Glass Mount Brackets Codes generally require handrail to be between 34”- 38” tall for a standard 42” guardrail application in a stairway. Glass mounting brackets permit attachment directly to tempered glass structural balustrades, or between lites of glass if its a minimum of 1.83” thick. Note: stainless steel brackets use a disk with a welded stud. Aluminum and brass brackets use a disk with a countersunk hole and bolt. Brackets are shipped as kits and are not assembled. Hole Specs for Glass If a hole is to be drilled in the glass, it must be done prior to tempering. Drilling holes or grinding glass after tempering may cause breakage.
